I will be getting married next summer in Mexico and we are planning on inviting a lot of our friends and family. We were wondering how we would send out invitations. We want to send information to people soon so they can plan for this and save money to go. Do we send out "Save the Date" cards now and still send out regular invitations later. Also how would we word the invitations/Save the Date cards? Thanks for your help!

Given that you are having a destination wedding, sending Save-the-date cards now is ideal. People who want to come need as much time as possible to make the necessary travel arrangements. You will have to send out official wedding invitations later. The wording on your Save-the-date cards might be something like this:
Please save the date of
Saturday, June 5, 2006
(or, for a formal card, Saturday, the fifth of June/two thousand and six)
for the wedding of
Beautiful Bride
and
Handsome Groom
(full names for formal cards)
Invitations to follow (optional line)
Mr. and Mrs. Parents (the hosts, if applicable)
Save-the-date cards are usually printed on a single, standard invitation-sized or postcard-like card. They can be informal or formal to match the style of your upcoming wedding.
