Destination Wedding Save the Date Cards or Invitations?

I am getting married in Jamaica in Jan. 2008. I am wondering if I can just send out an invitation 5-6 months ahead of time instead of sending out a Save the Date card and invitation to follow. Most of the people that will be attending already know about the travel plans because I have emailed all of them so I feel like I don't need to send out save the dates...also we are having an informal reception when we return home so can I include that info. on the same invitation or do I need a separate one? I do want everyone to be invited to Jamaica even though I know not all of them will come, so that is why I feel like I should just do one invitation to make it more simple. Is this okay?

Dear Sgoldsch,

Actually you sent your guests a verbal save the date already. So, you could send a formal invitation two months before the wedding and include the information about the reception in these if the reception is close to the date of the wedding.
