     Destination Wedding Shower

My brother and fiance are having a destination wedding in Scotland. Save the dates were sent, and invitations will soon be sent out to all. Obviously most will not be attending. Is having a wedding shower still ok since invitations will technically be sent to guests?

Dear Plezhelp,

A shower is fine, but is often omitted for the destination wedding since it is so expensive for guests to attend and asking them to give two gifts on top of all the other expenses is not polite.

Family doesn't host these unless also an attendant. And, please inform your brother that they are responsible for the lodging costs of all of their attendants.

Best wishes,
