     Destination wedding gift

A close friend's son is having a destination wedding. No friends are invited, only family. If I were invited my entire family would go. (two adults and two adult children). Since no friends are invited, what is the etiquette regarding gifts. I would normally give approximately $100.00 per each one of my family members that are invited. Not being invited causes me to rethink my gift. Is there an etiquette regarding a $ amount when not invited!

thank you

There is no magic equation for wedding gift giving. Please review the many posts we've had on the subject.

But, if you're not invited, you're not expected to send a gift. If you'd like to send a gift, though, send whatever gift you like. Anything you send should be considered generous. Personally, I try to always purchase a gift rather than give money. Selecting a gift is much more personal and more fun too.
