Destination wedding guests asking to bring dates

Destination wedding guests asking to bring dates

We have been asked by several invited guests if it would be okay to bring their new boy- or girlfriend for the holiday but not include them in the wedding or reception, after informing them we could not invite said boy or girlfriend to the wedding.

Almost all of our guests will be staying at the same hotel, where the wedding is taking place. My fiancee and I feel there would be enormous pressure to simply say "oh just join us" to any holidayers who have not been invited to the wedding, rather than send them off on their own to some other place for the evening.

Any advice on how to handle this situation?

Thanks

Dear Turokdw,

They are paying for their holiday and, honestly, should be able to bring whomever they wish. They just shouldn't bring them to your planned events for which they have been invited.

Best wishes,
