Do we have to pay for lodging for destination wedding guests?

We are planning a short notice wedding in San Diego on 7/7/07. We are from Phoenix, but most of our friends and family are from Ohio. I've read through the posts and still haven't found a clear answer to my question.

We want to send out invitations to family and friends, to let them know about our wedding (I also believe a lot of our friends and family would be offended if they didn’t know we were getting married and give them the option of coming)- but we can't afford to pay for lodging/travel expenses. (I've read different responses about paying for attendants lodging.) Is that for all attendants or just bridal parties? (We are not having any bridal parties, just us) Should we still send out invitations even thought we won’t pay for lodging/expenses.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Paying for lodging only pertains to your bridal party (attendants) and not your guests. You are not responsible for anyone's travel expenses.

As per the rules you agreed to upon sign up please post only one question at a time in the appropriate category.

Thanks!
