     Engagement/Reception/Bridal Shower

So we're planning a destination wedding and we are only inviting a select group of friends and immediate family. We want to have an engagement party/bridal shower/reception with everyone, but are not sure how to go about invites and timing.

Can we throw and engagement party and include everyone?

Do we wait to have a bridal shower until after???

Please help!! We don't want anyone to be upset, but we do want to celebrate with everyone even though we can't invite everyone to the actual wedding.

Thanks!

Congratulations on your engagement!

The problem is that you should not invite guests to parties celebrating an upcoming event to which they are not invited.
