Family can't afford to come to destination wedding

My Sister in Law has asked me to help planning a destination wedding 1/2 way around the world, that is going to cost $1500 per person to attend. Her fiance's family is coming. My husband's other siblings have said it is too expensive and they won't be able to come. My sister in law said if no one comes from her family so be it, but my husband is crushed. I'm concerned she'll regret not having any of her family or friends there. Should I talk to her about this?

I understand your concern and really feel for your family. However, this is your brother's decision. It's up to him to discuss this with his fiance. If he's this upset, he should have a talk with her since both bride and groom should be planing a wedding they both envision. He should let her know how important it is to him to have his family in attendance. I wouldn't recommend you intervene since it's not your role and would surely turn you into the "outlaw". Talk to your brother privately.

Good Luck,
