Friends are inviting themselves to our destination wedding
I don't think I found the answer on here yet. I'm going to Jamaica to get married, and I'm perfectly fine with having very few people there. Well, since it's Jamaica, people have kind of invited themselves. I kind of figure the more the merrier, as long as it doesn't impede on the actual plans, so I've passed on the resort info and dates. Am I expected, now that I've communicated the info, to follow that up with formal invitations of any kind? I'm happy that people would like to involve themselves, but I also chose a destination wedding for a reason. I'm not really interested in all the wedding planning and such. Any advice woul be great Thanks!

Dear Khcoolgirl,
If you are not inviting them, make sure they realize that you are not inviting guests so they will know that they are responsible for themselves. If you send invitations, you will be inviting and responsible for any day fee they will encounter if not staying at your resort (fee to watch the wedding). So, no. Only send invitations to those actually invited.
