My partner and I are hoping to marry in October, we wish to get married in a stone circle but we don't know if we can. Also we are looking for a priest or vicar that would be willing to do this, I do not know if this is possible or even legal!
Would we need to get married in a registry office or something and then have the stone circle thing?
Thankyou

In the United States, it is legal to marry outdoors, so therefore it is legal to marry in a stone circle.
If you are from another country (England?, Scotland?), simply contact your local marriage bureau to find out the legalities.
Now religion is a separate issue. Some clergy will not do a marriage outside of the church. It depends on your denomination and pastor. There are interfaith ministers in the U.S. and in England that can do the service legally and spiritually.
There are wonderfully appropriate rites and passages you can include in such a ceremony....such as a handfasting...
There are more options than you realize...
There are rites, vows and readings that can reflect who you are personally, spiritually, culturally and religiously.
One option is to have a civil service first, then you will be already legally married. Then find the appropriate person, even a good firend, to do your stone circle spiritual ceremony which you can write yourselves.
Do the research and you will be greatly rewarded. The outcome: A ceremony as you dreamed!
Blessings,

Thankyou very much for all your help. I have someone who I would allow to do the ceremony but I really want to look into the interfaith ministers thing first because my partner and I would like to be legally married inside a stone circle.
If this is not possible we will do the civil service and then stone circle as you suggested.
Thanks again
And by the way im in sunny old England

Dear Bride-to-Be in old sunny England,
Do a Google search for the Interfaith Seminary in Oxford.
When you get the contact information, ask for Rev. Miranda Holder (or it may be Holden?).
Anyway, she was a classmate of mine, and she is the director of the Interfaith Seminary. She does wonderful work.
I have not seen her in 9 years, but do please pass along my warmest regards.
Rejoice, for you are on your way to having the wedding of your dreams!
Thank you again for your help. I have done everything you said to do and have a lot more information now. I have printed out practically everything from your site and a lot of other stuff as weel. I have e-mailed Miranda and briefly explained and passed on your regards hopefully i wont have to wait long for the reply.
The main thing for my partner and myself is that it is our day, which I know sounds really selfish but we only plan on ever having one marriage, I am getting the dress and rings made especially for me and the rings are being made how we want them and being cut from the same piece of metal which is what we really wanted.
Thanks again for all of your help.
I should be on here for 15 mins and so if u wanna chat we can if not I will keep you posted on how it's all going if you would like that.

It is not selfish.
It is YOUR day!
In many cultures, the bride and groom, are actually crowned queen and king for the day.
Also, I believe Miranda has my book with all the amazing ways to personalize your ceremony so that it completely reflects you and honors and includes family and friends (if that is your wish).
Thankyou very much for all your kind help and support.
no reply from Miranda yet but will keep checking.

Miranda may be away. If for some reason she cannot do your service, try Joop van Montfoort. Miranda knows him well. There are, of course, other interfaith ministers in England. I personally do not Joop. However, he wrote an insightful review of my book for AIMS magazine in England.
I have no doubt that the perfect person will become
