If bride/groom cancel destination wedding can pastor keep airline ticket

We're flying our own pastor to our destination wedding. If the unforeseen event the bride/groom have to cancel, what happens to the airline ticket & money spent? She still wishes to go. Is it appropriate to ask to get all or part our money back or she just give her the ticket?

I previously asked a similar question and that was if the vendor cancelled. In this case, I need help with what to do in the event the bride/groom cancel.

If the ticket was purchased for the pastor to perform the service, then it is part of a "promise". She/he promised to perform the service and in turn received a ticket + payment. If the wedding is canceled, then the ticket should be returned because there is no longer the need for his/her services. However, if the couple cancels, then the pastor is owed something for the time he/she set aside for the wedding, after all, the couple made a promise as well. If a down payment was made, that could be that something. If not, perhaps it is the ticket.

Another issue is that tickets are purchased in a specific person's name. The ticket would be for that one person. There would be transfer fees when used by someone else.
