My fiancé and I are having our wedding in PA where my family resides and I grew up. We live in California now, which is where most of his family resides. His brother has graciously offered to throw a reception honoring our marriage in our hometown in California upon our return, for those who can't make the trip. We are sending out Save-The-Date cards for the wedding to everyone 7 months in advance, I was wondering if I should include a card mentioning the reception being held in California with the Save-the-date cards...or later with the invitations. Please help!
Thanks!

Re: [EmiliaSpeal] Invitation to reception...?

Hello Emilia,
First, make sure to coordinate with your soon-to-be Brother-in-law on the number of guests that can be invited to the Reception in CA. Once that is done, for those individuals that you really want to be at the CA Reception, include the CA reception information in their Save-the-Date cards. This will allow sufficient time for them to make their travel arrangements.
Best wishes and much happiness,

Dear Emilia,
Absolutely. I agree, except that you really could do this either way because the reception is basically just for those from CA who cannot attend your wedding. So, it doesn't really matter if you send the reception information early in the save the date cards--as long as these guest do not have to travel.
