Is it common to send out wedding invitations well in advance for a destination wedding? We are getting married in the Carribean in late November. We initially sent out an email to MOST of the wedding list a few weeks ago with the details of our wedding destination. But, we don't have an email address for everybody we are inviting OR they don't have email addresses at all. Is it O.K. to go ahead and send out the invitiation in early July for a late November destination wedding - to include the reception & wedding dinner details?
Any who are not on your email list should get a save the date notification of some kind. Send your invitations out 3 months prior with a rsvp deadline of 6 weeks prior to the wedding. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com
I usually say to send them 2 months before, but 3 is good too. Mostly we think that if we send them too early the guest will lose the invitation or forget about it. But, for the destination wedding, this should be fine. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
