I am getting married in Gatlinburg on Nov. 24th. I am confused about "save the dates". Is this an online invitation? I have posted our website and emailed links to everyone we have invited. It is small. The total is 11-15 right now. Should I send out "real" invitation via regular postal mail?

Save-the-date cards or invitations can be sent via snail mail, or in very informal situations, can be sent individually (no mass e-mails) via e-mail. However, you have a small number of guests who you could reasonably call in about a half an hour - skip the save the dates as long as you have communicated to them the date and location of the wedding so they may schedule accordingly. Keep them updated with any travel or hotel information they might need, and send your invitations out a couple of weeks early (8 - 10 instead of 6 - 8) to allow those who procrastinated to make last-minute travel reservations. I agree. As long as this is very informal, you really don't even need formal (snail mail) invitations. You could simply call them.
Save the dates are always optional. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
