Letting guests now before hand about reception following destination ceremony

I am afraid that many of our guests don't know yet that we are planning on having a reception following our destination wedding this October. I don't want them to feel like they are pressured to go away for our wedding because they don't want to miss it. How do I let them know that they can celebrate with us locally after the ceremony in the Dominican Republic? Is it OK to e-mail the guests? Thanks so much!

Dear Paisleyace,

If your reception is informal, email is fine. You could even invite them by email, as long as your even is very informal.

Best wishes,
