Mention reception with no specific date on destination wedding invitation?

Hi!

Should I mention a reception to follow that will take place later on invitations I send now for our destination wedding in November or should I just wait and send separate invitations later? Everyone will be invited to both.

Dear Kris,

We usually only mention the reception on the wedding invitations when it follows the wedding directly. It is better to send separate reception invitations.

Having said all of that, if this is a very informal wedding and reception and you are not using formal language--more of a letter--then you can say anything you want, including inviting guests to two events.

Best wishes,
