Mentioning attire on a destination wedding invitation

I am planning on having a destination beach wedding in North Carolina. Should I word on the invitations that dress is casual or should I just assume that most of the people won't get dressed too fancy? Since we are only invititing a small group of family and friends, and it's on the beach, I don't want anyone to feel like they have to get dressed up. My bridesmaids are wearing tea length dresses and the groom and groomsmen will be wearing suits.

You won't mention attire on the invitations. Your guests will understand the formality of the event from the type of invitation, time of day and location.
