Paying for destination wedding attendant lodging at all-inclusive resort
My fiance and I are planning to get married at an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana in early July.
Our attendants have agreed to be part of the wedding party under the assumption that they would foot the bill for their lodging (we are working hard to get good group and early-bird rates, and plan to buy very nice gifts for all of our attendants and nuclear family members who come to the wedding). However, I have read on this site that we are expected to pay for the wedding party's lodging (there will be 6 attendants). Given that our attendants have agreed to pay for their own all-inclusive packages, and that the packages offered by the all-inclusive resort do not separate the costs of flight and lodging, what do you recommend?

Dear Canucksurfer,
Well, it seems a bit late to do much about it now. You are expected to pay for at least two days of their lodging. They have offered to pay their own way. So, it is your choice to do what you think is best from this point going forward.
