Paying for lodging for wedding attendants on cruiseship wedding

My question was formed by reading another post about paying for your bridal parties lodging. We are taking a cruise for our wedding and having the ceremony at one of the ports of call for the cruise. All wedding guests will be cruising with us for 4 days. In another post in was stated that the bride and groom (or whomever is paying for the wedding) is supposed to take care of lodging costs for the bridal party. Does this apply for a cruise as well? Should we be paying for their entire cruise cost (since that is the cost of lodging)? When you purchase a room on a cruise, it is always based on double occupancy. Does that mean we are paying for the bridal party and their dates / spouses / children as well?

Thanks for your feedback!

Dear Eballard,

Your attendants shouldn't have to pay for lodging expenses. So, you would be expected to pay for their room. It may be best to consider not having attendants.

Best wishes,
