Proper After Reception when Familes are from 2 states
Hi,
My boyfriend and I are getting married in Maui this October. We will be having a few close friends and immediate family only. We want to have a reception/party when we come back to be able to celebrate with all our friends and family. We (and our families) currently live in different states (about 3 hours apart). Ideally we would like to have one big party and invite everyone, however we have gotten some feedback from our parents that it may be better to have two smaller receptions/dinners. Is it rude to expect people to come to a larger reception in one state? This is what we really want but I don't want people to be annoyed that they are just being asked to come to a party when they won't see us get married and have to travel.

Dear Mauibride,
It isn't rude to host one party, but is better to host a couple or even more for those who cannot travel. Which ever way you decide to do this, you can always play a video of your wedding for your guests. This can be played throughout your event.
