Providing welcome gifts for only family as destination wedding guests
I've read through most of the topics and can't find anything to answer my question.
We are getting married next February in the Dominican Republic with just close family. We are wondering whether we still do welcome baskets? The only people that will be coming are my mum and dad, my fiance's mum and partner and my fiance's sister and brother-in-law. (his sister will be my bridesmaid and his brother-in-law will be his bestman) Do we still do welcome baskets for close family? I say we do but my fiance says we dont.
Thank you for your advice in advance.

I certainly would unless you are paying for their accomodations and travel. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com

Welcome baskets are not mandatory at any time, but they are a thoughtful gesture to your closest family and friends that says that you are grateful they went to the time and expense to join you on your special day. They don't have to be elaborate - I would definitely include them. Shayna Walker, Williamsburg Wedding Design http://www.williamsburgweddingdesign.com
