     Rooms Gifts

I have arranged to get married at a beautiful resort where they have given us an excellent room rate for our guests. My fiancee's brother and soon to be wife want to stay at a small B&B about 2 miles down the road to save money. I am planning on having gift baskets put into the guests rooms at our resort - arranged through the resort. Am I required to do this for them too if they stay another place?

You're not really required to leave a gift for any of your guests. But, if you do for some you should really do for all.

Check with the resort to be sure there won't be an additional charge for guests attending the wedding who are not staying at the hotel.

Thank you. I just wasn't sure as they are opting to stay somewhere else.

Imagine of one of the other guests mentioned the gift. These guests would feel slighted. Again, if you are providing welcome gifts, you should provide them for all of your guests, no matter where they stay. I don't see why you wouldn't want to offer the gift to everyone.
