I made save the date cards for our wedding in HI in June 2008, and on the back asked the recipients to tentatively rsvp by November 1, 2008. I did this so that we could get an idea of how many were coming and starting shopping around for more defined prices. Should I keep it like this or wait?

Re: [crystal.n.nick] Save The Date & RSVP?
[In reply to]
Dear Crystal,
These shouldn't appear to be invitations, so we don't ask for an RSVP. What would work though is to have a travel agent for your guests to contact to make their plans. You could also ask for your guests to contact you to ask any questions they may have. This would help you get an idea of what your guests will do.
But, what usually works best is to contact each guest between now and November so you will know what their plans are. If they are important enough to invite, you must have some contact with them throughout the year, so this shouldn't be too difficult.
You could also include travel and lodging information will these.
