     Sending destination wedding invitations

We are getting married in Mexico in July and sent out an e-mail to those we wanted to invite. We gave all the info about the resort, dates, cost, etc and asked them to reply to us so that we know how many rooms to block off. I was thinking of sending luggage tags out to those that are attending. Should I include some sort of invitation with them?

Dear Cmcrim,

You have already invited your guests with your email. You asked them to reply (RSVP) to you. So, a formal invitation at this point isn't necessary.

We don't typically do this--invite earlier than two months before the event. But, if your guest list is small and your wedding is informal, then it is fine.

Best wishes,
