Sending save the date cards for destination wedding
My fiance and I have been pretty excited to plan our wedding which will take place in about 6 months. We live in California, his family lives in NE and mine in NY. We decided to keep it small and formal, getting married on a yacht here. I'm sending out our save the date cards today, which is a little bit late, but everyone knows by word-of-mouth already. We aren't going all out with the bachelor or bachelorette party or brial shower. Should I still send invites to people even if we know they can't make it and didn't send them a save the date? If I send people save-the-dates and they can't make it, do I still send them Invitations? So much to plan on my own! Sometimes my head starts to spin and we both come from families where weddings weren't a big deal, but I definitely don't want to be rude in any way, and especially have someone call me out on it! Thanks for your help.

Dear Sweet T,
Actually, we have many posts about this. It may help to read them for more information about planning and how to invite.
Save the dates are optional, but all who receive them also receive invitations, even if they have informed you that they cannot attend.
