Sending save the date for destination wedding and reception

I am planning a destination wedding that will include 9 attendants, 50 guests total at wedding w/ reception. This small occasion will require some guests to reserve hotel rooms.
I don't want children at the small wedding, so I plan on having a large casual reception where we can have families attend. This reception will be two weeks later.
Help! I need advice on whether to send save the date to just wedding guest for the small celebration or should I also send save the date for the larger reception also?

I'm in early planning stages and confused.
Denice

Dear Denice,

9 attendants for such a small wedding?? You might want to rethink this, as you are responsible for their lodging expenses. Plus, that is many more than is typical.

You can send save the dates to both, neither, or either. These are optional. It would be best, though, to send them to the wedding guests, as they would have to arrange travel plans.

Not to allow for children when parents are traveling for a wedding may be viewed as inconsiderate. So, if you don't want children, it may be best to invite those who do not have any.

Best wishes,
