Tipping Wedding Coordinator for Destination Wedding in Italy

Hello,

My fiance and I are getting married at an agriturismo in Italy in May. The owner of the property has served as a wedding coordinator and more. In addition to coordinating the catering (on-site), she's helping us communicate with the baker, florist, photographer, and musicians. She is also printing out all of the labels for our guests' gifts, taking us around the city to find additional wedding gifts, and she is taking care of all of our legal needs (filing and translating documents, serving as our translator during the ceremonies - legal and symbolic). All of this she is doing for free. On top of that, they are giving us a free night at the property and our breakfast will be included at no extra charge. We realize that we are bringing a lot of money to their agriturismo in a short period of time, but we also want to express our gratitude. We've bought this super-woman (and another employee) each a nice Northwest Coast Native piece of art (valued around $350 for the owner). What is your advice about an additional tip on top of this? I asked them and the said that, if we're happy with the result, some people leave a tip at the front desk, but we have no idea what the percentage/amount should be according to whatever protocols there are in Italy!

Many thanks,
Kate

Although it sounds as though your coordinator is being very accomodating, her service is probably figured into the price you are paying. I would therefore, knowing that she has gone above and beyond in your needs, present the gift you have selected for her and leave it at that. If you still want to tip in addition to that pick a figure that you are comfortable with.

I couldn't agree more. Most often people appreciate and value gifts from a person's native country (something that symbolizes your area) very much. This is a very appropriate gift/tip.
