We don't want to go to Hawaiian destination wedding
Hi;
My brother-in-law is having a Hawaiian destination wedding. I have very young children and I think the traveling and the plane ride would be too much for the children and us! It is so expensive. We could probably save up, but it would be a stretch and by no means easy.
I really do not want to go, but am concerned about my in-laws feelings. My husband says we should just go despite the inconvenience and money.
Please help with advice!

Dear Simon,
Most people realize, or should, that the destination wedding is not going to have the guest attendance the hometown wedding would. Many, including family, are unable to attend due to the very reasons you state. You shouldn't feel guilty about not attending.
