     Wedding Destination Gift?

My friends and I are planning to attend a friends destination wedding. She is not having a bridal party so none of us are in the wedding. We are all making our own arrangements to get there and stay. The cost of this trip is going to be over $1000 easily. Is it expected to give gifts? i always thought that attending a destination wedding was the gift. Please correct me if i am wrong. Thank you!

Dear Dylan,

A gift is still expected. It is polite to ship a gift to the couple before the wedding if you are attending.

Best wishes,
