     Wedding Party & Guest Invitations

I have a question regarding our Gatlilnburg, TN wedding in August of 2005. My mother & I are trying to decide on how to send out invitations and how far in advance. We are having the wedding on a Sat. @ 2:00 w/a cookout/reception following at a local golf course at one of their rentals. My question is; How should I provide all the information to our wedding party of 10, so they can start making their reservations & asking off for work? The ceremony & reception site will accommodate up to 100 people...should we send out something this year with general info. for them to make reservations also, or is it too soon? Then should we follow with invitations how far in advance as the wedding date of Aug. 2005? My last question is; do I need to send invitations to our wedding party? Thanks.

Dear Wedding Party & Guest Invitations,

Usually, the best way to convey your plans to your bridal party is to talk to them. If they are close, meet with them so all of you are on the same page. If some are not close, write and phone. And, you would send invitations to them when you send all of your invitations, which would be at least six weeks before your wedding.

You could mail out 'save the date' cards to your guests. This implies that they will receive invitations to your wedding at a date closer to your wedding date.

Best wishes,
