When to send Save The Dates for destination wedding
Hi, I'm sure many versions of this question have been asked before on here.
Point 1. My FH and I live in the UK and are planning on getting married in the Caribbean on 6 June 2009. As the majority of our guests also reside in the UK and will therefore have a long distance to travel, I was wondering, when would it be appropriate to send STD's so that they have ample notice of our plans and time to save etc. Also, once STD's have been sent, how many months do we wait before we send invites and how much time do we allocate to guests to RSVP. We already have a website that can be send to guest with internet access.
Point 2. With regards to informing guests of the wedding venue. Although we do have a venue in mind, (which is mentioned on our website) whether or not we book it will be based on the number of guests who will attend. Which we will have no idea of until RSVP's are returned. Many of the venues we have contacted will only accommodate a small number of guests (2-50) whilst we may have a large gathering of say, 100. The venue we have in mind can cater for 100 max, but if we have much less or even more than this amount of guests, we may have to change venue. For this reason, would it be ok to still mention on our website info relating to the venue we have in mind although this may change depending on headcount. Also I am worried about booking a venue and coordinator at this early stage only to find out that my guest list cannot be accommodated to.
I hope the above is not too confusing and await your response.
Any advice you can give will be appreciated. Many thanks!

Dear Onelove,
There are a lot of questions here. I hope I address them all without missing any.
You can send your save the date a year in advance. It is best not to include your website address if you include registry or gift information on your site. Include information about your choices of venues based on attendance. This lets your guests know that you cannot firm up your plans until you have an accurate guest list. It would be best at this time to have a contact or travel agent your guests can make travel and lodging commitments with. This would be another way to be able to keep track of the count.
Send your invitations two months before your wedding.
It is appropriate to include all lodging information on your website. Also, if you are staying at an all inclusive resort and choose to host the wedding/reception there and there is a 'day-fee' charged per guest who doesn't stay at the resort, you would be responsible for those charges. A guest shouldn't have to open their wallets.
