Who to invite to destination wedding rehearsal dinner
Hello-
I am getting married in Puerto Rico next month and we are expecting approx. 30 guests. I am trying to plan for the rehearsal dinner (we are paying for it) and after reviewing websites about etiquette, it looks like we are supposed to invite famiy and members of the wedding party. When I made this list, it included all but 5 of the actual guests. Now I don't know whether to just invite everyone to the rehearsal dinner or cut it down to only wedding party and parents. I don't to exclude only a few people, but I can't afford to feed all the guests 2 nights in a row. Do you have any suggestions?

Dear Daisymaye,
This is an easy solution. Don't host a rehearsal dinner. It is optional anyway. If you wish to host anything before the wedding, you could host a short cocktail hour after the rehearsal. Any guest who wishes to "drop in" could, but it could be for a short amount of time. When you leave, the free drinks do too. But, your venue might have special pricing on something like this that could work really well--much less expensive than full meals.
And, I agree that with a small group like this, it would seem insulting to exclude anyone.
