Wording for save the date cards for reception after destination wedding

Thank you so much for all of the useful information on this site. I have scoured and found so many answers. However, I've been unable to find a definitive answer to one question that has plagued me for quite some time. My fiance and I are marrying in February in Florida with 18 guests. We are having a reception dinner for those guests directly following the wedding.

Originally, I wanted to send wedding announcements along with save-the-date cards for our at home reception, from Florida the day after the wedding. Our at home reception will be in June, nearly five months after the ceremony. After reading many posts on this board, I realize that I would not send an announcement at all, just a save the date card and then the actual invitation 6-8 weeks out.

Is there any wording I can use on the save-the-date card to link the June reception to the February wedding or should I not mention the wedding at all? If it helps, the reception will be a casual, yet catered, BBQ with volleyball, bocci ball, and hay rides on my future in-law's farm.

I was really hoping to bridge the gap between the two events, but from what I've read it seems as those this is perhaps not necessary. Please advise.

Dear Babyd,

Thank you for doing your homework. Well done.

There really isn't definitive verbiage for save the dates. So, you could use any words you wish. You could mention the wedding as there are no 'rules' against it. It just isn't necessary. Plus, some may feel as if you want a wedding gift.

You could simply inform your reception guests verbally about your wedding.

Best wishes,
