     destination wedding invitation etiquette

Is it proper to send invitations for a destination wedding via the internet/email/webpage or by traditional invite via postal service? If it should be by mail, what information should be in the invitation for a destination wedding at an island resort half-way around the world?

It depends on the formality of the wedding. For very informal events email or telephone is fine. For semi-formal and formal weddings stick with the traditional wedding invitation. You can send save-the-date cards to include all of the destination information such as location and accommodation suggestions and then about 6 weeks before the trip you'll send your invitations.
