gift baskets for hotel rooms of guests

Are we supposed to put welcome gift baskets in the hotel rooms of our guests? It could get pretty expensive. Any suggestions??

Leaving welcom gift baskets for your wedding guests is a nice gesture but not a law.

If you feel you would like to offer this welcome gift to make your guests feel comfy you could buy baskets at the dollar store or a local craft shop and fill them with hand wrapped soaps, candies, crackers and bottled water. Whatever goodies you can think of. Wrap all of the contents in pretty tulle and ribbon as well as decorationg the baskets themselves. The key is all in the wrapping. Nott too much...not too little. Have you ever received a gift that was fairly ordinary but the wrapping was so beautiful that it made the gift really special? That's the idea here. Take the ordinary and make it extraordinary!
