     invitation etiquette

I am planning a destination wedding in the Carribean. We are requesting on the invitation that guests fly in on Friday afternoon and leave on Monday. How do we let our guests know that if they want to extend their trip they are welcome to come earlier however we request that everyone leave on Monday so we can enjoy our honeymoon alone. Also how do i say adults only?

There will be no response cards.

Dear Alisonjfrazier,

There is no polite way to inform guests to get out of Dodge by a certain date. In fact, many will plan this as their vacation due to the fact that it cost so much just to get there.

There is also no polite way to state that this is an adult only affair. Those with children will most likely want to bring them rather than leave them for several days. You can try to let them know that only they are invited and not mention children.

Best wishes,

I agree with Rebecca and would like to suggest that you book your honeymoon in a different hotel or location and keep it a secret unless you want company.
