My fiance and I are having a destination wedding and up on our return we are having a small reception with close friends and family (40 people). I have three very good friends who live a few states away, and who I would love to have at the reception, however, I don't want them to feel obligated to travel for a small event, on relatively short notice (6 weeks). Also, I don't want to hurt their feelings by not including them. I know they would love to be there. Please advise!

If you know they would love to be there, and you would like to invite them, then send an invitation. If they cannot travel, or don't want to attend, it is their decision. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
