We have recently booked an informal beach wedding on Turks and Caicos for this June (less than 5 months from now) and have verbally invited our guests (we expect about 30-40 guests). From what I have already read on this site, it is not necessary to send formal invites through the mail. Two months after our return, we will have a larger post-wedding cocktail party for about 200 guests to celebrate. We will send out formal invites. Should we send a save the date card for the post wedding cocktail party? If so, how should we word it?

The save the date isn't necessary. Just send a typical wedding reception invitation eight weeks before the date of the reception. Please remember that this isn't a gift giving event and no mention of gifts is made on the invitation. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
