     wedding etiquette about expenses

Is it tradition that the father of the bride pay for the wedding and honeymoon?

This used to be true many years ago. In more modern times, couples are paying for their own weddings, and rightly so, since they are marrying later in life, are more mature and able to support themselves. Long gone are the days when the bride went right from daddy's home to hubby's.

Some parents do offer to help out, or even pay for the entire wedding, but consider that a generous gift, not a right you're entitled to.
