This used to be true many years ago. In more modern times, couples are paying for their own weddings, and rightly so, since they are marrying later in life, are more mature and able to support themselves. Long gone are the days when the bride went right from daddy's home to hubby's.
Some parents do offer to help out, or even pay for the entire wedding, but consider that a generous gift, not a right you're entitled to. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
