My soon to be husband and I really want to go to Europe for our honeymoon, but we are poor (we both just got out of college and don't have that much money. We have only 5 grand that his parents are giving us, but that might be needed to further my education) and our wedding is in August, which I know is a bad time to go to Europe. I really need some help with this, and I don't know what to do. Are there any suggestions for a safe, cheap, romantic honeymoon?

I am not a travel agent but would suggest that you investigate a cruise or an all inclusive site for your vacation. Try some of the travel websites for deals. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com

First of all, congratulations! There are definitely several options for you.
1. Based on where in Europe you would like to visit, you could wait to take your honeymoon during the low season months. Possibly November, January, or February. A seven night European Cruise or weeklong stay in one or two destination cities would keep you in that approximate budget. The land-based vacation may offer free nights after a 5 night stay or include breakfast based on the tour operator used. (Tour operators offer individual / honeymoon vacations)
2. Depending on your interests, you could get a taste of what you would like to do in Europe by taking a shorter trip to either British Columbia or Montreal, Canada. My aunt used to do this with her French classes as an alternative (Montreal and Toronto) for her students who could not afford the annual Europe trip.
3. If you really wish to get away for your honeymoon immediately after the wedding, there are also some cruises and all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean which offer Islands of European influence. This would be during hurricane season. (Get the insurance!)
4. You could do a Honeymoon Registry depending on how you feel about registries and how receptive you think your guests would be to that.
5. Take a look at your budget and see what is really important. Many people take a less expensive trip right after the wedding and save their money for a blowout anniversary vacation.
