My fiance and I want to spend our honeymoon in Jamaica. We will be there for the first week of October and plan on purchasing the 7 day Sandals package.
The two resorts that most appeal to us are Grande Ocho Rios and Dunn's River. Is there any particular competitive advantage to either resort. (Ammenities, how crowded it will be, the quality of the restaurants and rooms, ect) We're just trying to figure what the pros and cons of each location would be so that we can make an educated decision.
I've tried several travel agencies but each tells us different information about the two resorts and has given us a wide range of prices for the same package. Any advice you could provide on helping us to make an educated decision (and not get ripped off) would be greatly appreciated.

Re: [Amandine] Honeymoon Resorts in Jamaica: Sandals Grande Ocho Rios vs Dunn's River

Sandals Grande Ocho Rios is part of Sandals Classic Collection which means that you get the Sandals Ultimate All Inclusive treatment with rooms from average to spectacular.
Sandals Dunns River is part of Sandals Signature Collection which means that you get the same Ultimate Collection taken to another level. The Signature collectijon is highest level of Sandals. The resorts are based on different themes. This one has an Italian theme.
The main thing to keep in mind is that you get exchange privileges to each resort and complimentary transfers no matter which one you choose. The beach is nicer at Sandals Dunns River
Sandals does a systemwide sale twice a year and all resorts are on sale between 35-75% off. Every now and again that sale coordinates with the Air Jamaica sale and you save even more. The best advice is to find a travel agent you feel comfortable with and tell her what you have in mind. She/he can keep an eye out for the specials and contact you when the sale is on.
