     Honeymoon Timing...

I know most weddings take place in the afternoon and that the receptions are usually in the evening, but what about the wedding night? Do the bride and groom just go home? I've never wanted an entirely fairytale wedding, except the part where the bride and groom ride off in a horse drawn carriage to their honeymoon.

A morning wedding and a lunchtime reception would give us time to ride to an airport, hop a plane, and spend our wedding night someplace special and different. But will a morning wedding (maybe 10:00am) give us enough time to get ready? And will it be stressful or ruin the mood of the day by flying on an airplane right after the reception? I'm assuming we can't really wear a wedding dress and a tux on an airplane, although my dress is semi informal with a small train that will be pinned up.... ugh, i'm so confused!!

You have a few options here. You can book a room for your honeymoon night at a nearby hotel (make it a luxurious one if you can afford it!) or you can bring a change of clothing and all of your luggage and just hop a "red eye" flight. Depending on the location you choose for your honeymoon, how far you have to travel to get to the airport and what time your reception ends, it's possible you could get to your destination sometime that night or early morning.

If you're feeling at all stressed by the latter then book the nearby hotel, enjoy a wonderful wedding night, have a nice leisurly breakfast in bed and get a cab to the airport.

Relax and enjoy.
