Ideas for Honeymoon in Jamaica Ocho Rios

Hi, My fiance and I are planning on going to Jamaica for our honeymoon. From what I have seen via the internet I think I have narrowed it down to Sandals of Ocho Rios. We do know for sure that we want an all inclusive and would like to have a good mix of activity along with relaxation. Could anyone tell me more about this resort/area as well as some other options that you think are comparable. Also I need help with how to choose a room and whether or not to get the Concierge service or what other options would be wise to choose. Thanks! Wink

Sandals is always a great choice for couples - especially honeymoon couples.

Sandals Ocho Rios is a Sandals classic. They have combined two of the older Sandals properties to make one big property. (Actually one of these properties was something else before Sandals acquired it a few years back. I believe it was called Cibonney)

As for rooms, the ones located in the villa section are wonderful. Whether you do the Plantation Honeymoon Villa room with Pool (which does not come with concierge service), the St. Ann Plantation Suite with pool (which gives you concierge suite service), or the Romeo and Juliet Honeymoon 1 Bedroom (which gives you all Sandals has to offer) your honeymoon will be memorable.

Now, if you are looking for a newer resort in the Sandals chain you must experience Sandals Whitehouse. It is truly remarkable with three distinct vacations on one property.

If you want to venture away from the Sandals chain Couples has a few fabulous resorts to compare to the Sandals experience but not the Sandals price.

The Caribbean his having an airfare sale right now. I don't know when you are planning to travel but it is a good time to make your reservations. Typically you will only need between 150.00 - 250.00 per person deposit depending on your airfare gateway and what tour operator services you and then final payment is due 45 days before you leave.

Excursions - Don't forget to take a trip to Dunn's River Falls it is a Jamaican staple. You get to climb the waterfall. Some people (mostly natives) jump off. Also a trip to Ricks Cafe is memorable (not included in your sandals stay) It was closed for rennovations this winter so it should be a great experience. Sunset cruises are popular and include dinner. Venture down by Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort for some really great shopping.

Whether you do Sandals or Couples you have exchange privileges at the other chain resorts. You must get your own transportation to the sister resort, but then it is as if you stay there too. Negotiate the taxi rate before you get in.

Congratulations and enjoy!
