Jamaica honeymoon in October? Will there be hurricanes?
My fiance and I are getting married Sept 29 which means we will either leave for our honeymoon Sun the 30th or Monday October 1st.
We really want to stay at a Sandal's resort in Jamaica, but are worried that we'll be swept away by hurricanes. Is early october still hurricane season for that area?

Yes, hurricane season is from June 1 through October 31. So, it is quite possible that if there is a hurricane developing in the area at that time, Jamaica could be impacted by it in some way. Whenever we hold destination weddings in locations situated in the path of a potential storm during the season, we must be mindful of one very important thing. Depending on when and how quickly it does develop, evacuation could be difficult. Rhonda Allen, Bridal Consultant New Beginnings Weddings

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
Yes, you could be affected by Hurricane Season but Jamaica is an island that is rarely affected. Although you can never guarantee a hurricane free season. Sandals does have a hurricane guarantee though.
