We are getting married in July and we are paying for 100% of the ceremony & reception ourselves. We are looking for some honeymoon ideas (would like to stay around 4-5 days) that won't cost a whole lot, as most of our budget will be going on the ceremony/reception. Probably under $1,000. Flying isn't a problem with either of us, but would like to go to a place where there is a package including airfare and accomodations if possible. Would like to stay within the U.S. If anyone know of anything that might help, leave a post here.

Please tell us where you live since airfare varies with location to location. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

1. mountain or country setting--fishing, hiking, horseback riding, maybe a cabin in the woods, etc.
2. good tourist attraction--Disney, SeaWorld, Universal Studios, etc.
We would be interested in either one of these options, but are mainly cost focused at this point. Whichever one we would be able to get the best deal. It sounds cheap to say this, but we will be paying for everything else ourselves afterall.
In the Bahamas the Riu Paradise Islandis also having a special. Which should put you only slightly over $1000 for the two of you.
Cancun is always a inexpensive place to honeymoon. The US dollar does not go as far as it did before 9/11 in Mexico but it is still a great return.
I'll ask Uneeda for some suggestions for a honeymoon package in the USA.
Stay tuned.
You can do an all inclusive there for less than that.
Hawaii currently has some great specials on air and resort. Depending on you dates that may also work. But this one only works if everything is available in the lowest possible rate.
Pleqase contatc Uneeda at that website above (be sure you tell her Top Wedding Sites sent you to get the best rates) and give her your dates for a more exact quote. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
Miami, Florida has a host of options. Amelia Island in Florida.
Hilton Head, SC: There is a Hilton there that has great amenities and a good beach.
Las Vegas is, of course, a good deal with lots of activities.
If you are not beach people, then I would recommend the Poconos, Grand Canyon or Alaska.
There are also many Spa resorts in the states that offer romance packages. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
You might want to look into Gatlinburg TN. It is very nice and quiet. It is between Knoxville TN and Ashville NC, so you could fly and rent a car. It is in the smokey Mtns and the cabins are great. We go every year and stay for 4 nights paying about $500 for the whole weekend. Since it is a public area all of the mountains parks are free.
