I was just wondering how well honeymoon registries work if anyone would know... I would love to take my fiance to Hawaii since I always tell him about how much I enjoyed it when I went a few years ago. There is no other place in the world I would rather have a honeymoon. However, that is something very expensive and I don't want to do a honeymoon registry if only a couple people respond to it. I also don't want to be rude by suggesting it to anyone other than my father. We also just recently moved and bought a bunch of new things for our place so we don't need traditional wedding gifts. Should I just wait until we are financially stable enough to pay for the trip ourselvles? Or is it possible to ask my Dad to suggest it as a "must"?

Registries in general work rather well. If you are having a shower you could let the host know that you have a honey moon registry and she can include that in the invitation. Plus, if you have a wedding website for yourselves you could post your registry there too. Of course, word of moth is a good way to spread your gift preference too and , if asked, your dad could certainly let your guests know your choice of regisrty. Just don't list your registry in any invitations other than the shower invitation.

You may receive gifts that you don't want or need. You should obviouisly send a thank you and then you could return the gift or donate it to charity.
