My photographer offered a wedding video along with the photo package for a smaller fee than it would be all by itself. At the time, we could afford it because my Mom gave my Fiance and I $5,000 towards the wedding. The photographer is having us do a payment plan. Since booking with them last year, my Mom had a financial crisis and we gave back the $5,000 she gave to us so she could survive and pay bills.
Now it's either I cancel the wedding movie or try to figure out something else so we can have a wedding video on a tight budget. Any suggestions?
Thank You

To save money now, see if you can negotiate with your photographer to have the photos and video done during the wedding, but have the prints and album done at a later time - money permitting. The photographer will at least be paid for his or her time, and you'll be able to get both things that you want, a professional photo shoot plus a video.
It might mean that your photographer may not want to release the negatives to you, so they can sell you the prints a year or so down the road.
Worse case scenario, keep the professional photographer and ask a couple friends to film the event using digital video cameras. What one friend misses, the other might catch. Later on, money permitting, and as long as you have digital video files, you can hire someone to edit the film and produce your Wedding Video.
