     Backyard wedding

I am planning on getting married in August of this year and my fiance` and I are still not certain on all the details. She likes the idea of getting married in our back yard and holding the reception there as well. I am fine with the reception being in our yard, but I don't like the idea of the wedding being held there mainly because there is a warehouse building behind our house and of course the house on the other side so it seems kind of cheesy to me to hold the wedding there. I just feel we should be married somewhere with decent looking surroundings, park, gazebo, something like that. I think my fiance's main concern is travel because we have two small children and she wants everything to be at the house to make it easier on us. Any suggestions on a compromise or maybe a way to make the surroundings of our yard less eyecatching?

Thanks,

Bob

Outdoor weddings are nice but unpredictable, especially the weather. If you live near an area where they have arboretums or indoor gardens (zoo or garden society), or perhaps a museum or art gallery that has really nice interiors, you could have a small ceremony there and follow up with the reception at the house.

It is important to keep the "romance" alive in a relationship and what better way than to have a romantic wedding ceremony in a beautiful environment to help reinforce the memories of your special day.

We all tend to want to take the easiest path to help reduce the hassle factor. It's nice to know that you are wanting to make the day special for both of you, and willing to go that extra step to make sure it happens. Your bride will thank you!
