     Cost effective fabric draping?

I am considering a site for my wedding that is a historically preserved landmark. I want to add my wedding colors to the space but I cannot puncture or leave anything on the walls and I have heard fabric draping is expensive anyway...

Are there any thrifty ways to bring more of my colors into the room? Are there "neat" ways to drape fabric that wont leave residue behind? Which fabrics would be best? I have heard of using plastic tablecloths but it seems very cheap to me!

Thank you for your consideration.

I would definitely NOT use plastic tablecloths...they would almost certainly look "cheap", as you expressed. Using colorful rental tablecloths on the tables (alternating colors for example) is a great way of incorporating color into a room. Using gel inserts over can lights is usally an inexpensive way to colorfully uplight a room. Runners over white tables are less expensive than full dloths, but make a colorful impression as well.
