How do I tell the family members that they are only invited to the reception only and not the wedding?
I want to have a simple, private wedding. I want a maid of honor, 1 or 2 bridesmaids, best man and 1 or 2 groomsmen. I want both our parents and siblings at the wedding only.
The reception will be the same day and we will invite a few more family and friends. How do I tell the family members that they are only invited to the reception only and not the wedding?

Dear Lily,
This is quite common actually. So when anyone asks about the wedding, just politely inform them that it will be a very small, private affair.

Thank you. With that said how do I word my invitations? My wedding isn't until May 2010
(1) For family invited to both functions
(2) For friends and family invited to the reception only.
By the way I think I mentioned both ceremony and reception will be at the same site just a few feet apart. (Wedding in one building and reception in the other)
